Blaze albums are so under-rated

To me "The X-Factor" is the best thing Iron Maiden has ever released. "Virtual IX" not so much though... :/

Well, I dont like Bruce. His vocals get on my nerves. The X Factor was dark, deep and more progressive and simply sounded better to my ears. As I said I did not appreciate the follow-up. The X Factor is indeed the only IM album I come back to nowadays.

And yeah, Brave New World was pretty solid.

I would say that Brave New World is my favorite Maiden album overall. Every one of the classic albums had some filler. Brave New World is incredibly consistent (although most of The Nomad is admittedly filler), and far more mature and well-composed. It also has a seriousness and purpose that the older stuff lacks. There's a real beauty to some of the guitar melodies that you won't find in 80's Maiden.
