I always put on my contracts that I need to be credited as me for the position I did on the record (record, mix, master etc). It literally is just one sentence, something like "_____s name and work description must be credited for all work he has done for the album on the album cover-sleeves". It's a really simple requirement and doesn't really require much effort to add it.

Yeah, that's common sense but still shit happens and you can't prevent a mistake. Roadrunner fucked my name up in a Megadeth album and credited someone else for some spoken vocals. Also, Nuclear Blast fucked me up for the mix and master of the latest Dimmu Borgir and credited some random kid, a guy called Andy Sneap or something...

i had to mix/master on someone elses computer/room and it was a while ago so i will try and remember!

Just used stock cubase sx3 stock plug ins for compression, ozone for eq and as a limiter on the master bus.

One sample blended with the snare, not samples on the toms just eq/compression on the mic tracks and the kick sample was from superior, sampled then used drumagog.

As far as i know the guitars were 5150/mesa - although this was the hardest part of the mix as they had a real harsh upper mid range to tame.


Im happy with how it came out as literally i turned up at a friends house and ended up doing the mix pretty much on the spot with what was available, i didnt even know what it was till i googled the band name when i got home that night - i guess it just shows you never know whats gonna happen in this industry or what circumstances/gear will be there at the time.

At times like that its just a combination of experiance/gut feel which will get us through i guess.
