So I heard from a friend that there are rumors of a Digi 003 coming in the near future. I don't think he knows anything about it with certainty, so don't take any of this information as being entirely solid, but he said that it will probably still be firewire, and may have 8 mic inputs and 8 line inputs. Apparently the latest version of Pro Tools LE (7.3) has Digi 003 files that install with it...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

digi don't do it i just got my 002

How long after the 002 came out did the kick the 001 support??

I'm worried about that i just upgraded to from the 001 to the 002 so i could use the latest plug ins and stuff and i swear if in like 1 year I'm left behind I'm leaving digi!

I love protools but i just spent way to much money to get screwed like that ya know..

That gearslutz thread is from 2004. Digi didn't realease any new hardware at NAMM this year, just software (and another overpriced certification program).

I do hope the next piece of LE hardware looks less fisher-price than the 002.

Looks photoshopped to me :)
I prefer this one, wouldn't be nice?

basically digidesign fucks everyone over, the hd systems are the only ones worth buying and even then they are way over priced. if your smart you can get more than a 002 will give you for way less money. but yes that is a fake if you read the rest of that thread, pretty funny tho.

yea but like Arron i myself started and learned in protools and it just sucks to switch over honestly and protools has been more than capable for everything i need!!

But you get screwed one to many times you finally walk away. So well see :Smug:

Question- would it really be that hard to keep making new versions of protools compatible to old hardware?? It's weired cause i could use my digi001 with any other new software without problems (cubase, saw studio ext....). Or does digi just wanna be dicks and force you to upgrade hardware??

I am pretty sure if you wanted to switch software it wouldn't require a hardware switch. someone correct me if I am wrong.

I think you're right but why then are all the pros (and many not-so-pros) using it?
Would be interesting to hear Andy's / James' point too.

i think my 002 was great value for money
a 8 in interface with adat, control surface, daw software and plug ins for just over a grand?
i call that a bargain.

dont get me wrong, le has its faults, (no goddam delay compensation) track count limits etc
but for me it has the least faults, or the least annoying faults out of any of the daws out there.

i just read something about the time adjuster plugin in protools under delay was supposed to be for plugin delay or something.

I tried it with drumagog to fix the latency and no luck though.....
