Greetings.
@Astarte: Glad to know you like those bands ; too many people have prejudices against them, but ultimately, they rock
BTW, are the spanish lyrics of Hocico any good, or are they crap ? Also, can you write me (once again, I'm sorry) your three favorite Current 93 albums ? Let's say the best with a story being told, and two more musically oriented ? I'll come back to you about this, because NOW I can finally download some stuff
If you want a very good VNV album, take Empires. It's awesome.
The spanish lyrics of
Hocico are the same as in english. I mean, is the same style and topics.
About Current 93:
It's really hard to pick 3 favorites 'cause, as i've said before, they have a lot of albums and they're all different but if i have to choose i'd go for:
-
Nature Unveiled (from the old era, very experimental, dense ritual soundscapes, really hard to listen though. e.g.
Ach Golgotha is a 19 minutes long track built from a loop of
A. Crowley chanting, lots of distortion and
David Tibet howling 'Maldoror is Dead'.)
-
Swastikas For Noddy/Goddy or Crooked Crosses for the Nodding God (these three releases are basically the same with some differences.
Swastikas For Goddy is the re-release of
Swastikas For Noddy and
Crooked Crosses for the Nodding God is the re-mixed & re-recorded version of the previous. Personally i prefer the latest.
This album is a combination of folk, a capella, silly, sinister and twisted songs)
-
Of Ruine or Some Blazing Starre (is considered one of the best albums made by C93, is more personal than the previous albums, there's less religious influences, less experimentation, but it's a beautiful and depressing folk album, the songs are eerie and melancholic, and even though there isn't much variation, this album is far from boring.)
-
Thunder Perfect Mind (as it reads in the cover sleeve
'this is a sister album to Nurse With Wound's Thunder Perfect Mind'. This is definitely one of my favorites albums ever. Epic, apocalyptic folk. Chilling, depressing, beautiful, dark. The vocals are scary and melancholic. The lyrics, great as usual. In all, a wonderful album).
If it doesn't make you shiver, you must be dead

(especially Tibet's vocals in
All The Stars Are Dead Now or
Hitler As Kalki, to name a few)
Hm.. I couldn't pick just three. I hope this was useful
PS: If you wish, i could send you the albums through ICQ or other.
PPS: Thanks for the VNV recommendation
