Hi wanted to ask if there is a pedal or something else out there wich can take the bass in 2 parts (dual Band) an add distortion to the lowpassed one and let the other side clear?

Thanks

If your recording digitally, you can

1. Track the bass (DI), make a copy of the track and eq/saturate either track to taste
2. Have your DI track buss to another track, again with each track set to your liking
3. A pedal like the Tech21 Sansamp BASS DI allows you to have a distorted output as well as a THRU that is an unaffected DI
If recording that way, you will need two inputs.

thx for the answer but i dont want to record that. i want to put the sound that i have in my daw on stage. Maybe the sansamp is the right choice with a eq after it for LP filter. hmm

This is my live setup

Spector euro 5lx into a boss line selector. In the loop of the pedal i put a sansamp vt bass with distorted settings and with bass knob all the way down. that i blend it with the pure signal. that goes into an aguilar compressor and then to the svt3 pro head. That way i can control how much of the di and how much of the distorted channel i want.
Hope it helps

I just... Distort the fuck out of my live tone.

On a more serious note all the pedals I have are specifically made for bass so there is not much low end lose. Either do that and just drive it as much as you need or get two different amps and/or input options.

Ive done this before when I had a bass rack. I had two different approaches over time. First was my solid state head had separate effects loops for the High/Low stages of a BiAmped system running into 4x10 and a 2x15. I ran distortion on the uppers while keeping the low end solid. Fairly simple. Cons: amp DI signal did not pass an effected signal, high likelihood of poor sound if single mic'd at a club - drawback of Biamping.

After I hated my BiAmped rig, I went with a tube head into a 8x10. This time I used a rackmount 2 way crossover from the Amps Effect send and ran different effects stacks on each of the ranges. The two signals were recombined with 1U rackmount mixer and passed back to the Amp's return. Loved how it sounded but it had considerable footprint and weight.

Still looking for a versatile pedal that could do this for me on my pedal board. I've seen units with a Mix% effects loop, but not one that has xover.
