Do you buy too many CD's?

I would like to. I am lacking in monetary resources. Any time I am at a CD store, I feel like crap if I see CDs I want, and can't buy them. The problem is, if I had the cash, I would buy them... All the time... it would clear me out.

When I wasn't a poverty-stricken scholar, I bought a lot, but I had a relatively high-paying job, so it wasn't a problem. Now, I have to only go with the ones that I really want. My wife thinks that either way I have too many. She doesn't complain nearly as much as she does about the number of books that I have, though. I keep telling her that it's only going to get worse, but that doesn't seem to make her feel any better, for some reason.

yeah it especially sucks when I get into new bands. I'm still in the process of buying the entire Rage back catalogue, and now I just discovered Nevermore (fucking \m/!!!!!!11111!!!!!!!!11) and Finntroll, so I have to get all their albums now too...it never ends...

We try to keep CD purchases in the family budget, and it's exciting to get CDs. But...nothing pisses me off more than paying for a CD and finding it sucks, which happens. Lately, I've been recording and burning some vinyl LPs (I have thousands), and after a lot of work, I finally found the best way to get the vinyl sound all cleaned up without using heavy compression and losing the quality and frequencies which IMO were much better on vinyl mastering. If anybody is interested, PM me, I'll share my discovery.

I buy quite a few...and the only problem with this is that some cds don't get the listening time they deserve.....i have some awesome cds that i have had for 3 or 4 months that have only been played once or twice....i guess you can consider it a retirement plan. While all the other old fuckers are out playing lawn bowls i'll be listening to those cds i neglected in my youth...unless i get alzheimers and everytime i put on (say) Symphony X's Odyssey i'll go "wow this is good....i wonder why i have never heard this before".

I don't really dig Nevermore because of Dane's vocals.....but Loomis is a top guitarist.
Rage is cool....and i want to get Smolski's solo album very soon.....i've still got some Rage's Invisible Horizon on vinyl from 1989 or whenever it was.

I do.

It's not my fault, though. Metal and prog-rock is in a renaissance period right now.

Yeah, It's an ongoing problem...

Today I bought Redemption (Rullo & Romeo!!!), Into Eternity "Dead and Dreaming", Pain of Salvation "...Concrete Lake", Human Fortress's CD, and Rage of Creation "Eyes of Eternity".

heheh.

Yes I do. I used to be really bad, to the point where I would buy close to 100 per year, but have toned it down a little the last couple years. There isn't enough time to listen to all of them!!! :yell:

There is no such thing as to many CDs :) I have over 400 and 15 on order currently :) I plan to continue to buy albums no matter what. That is why I get my jobs :):) To buy more music. It is the whole reason to live.
