So for a few months now ive simply been recording a DI by using my toneport ux2 and using respected fx chains with lecab2 and impulses and thats about it.

But i recently read a thread that, thats partially it.

I read that the DI clean signal is supposed to be sent to an actual AMP and then using a mic i'm supposed to record the sound.

But i dont have a mic? i have a fender and line 6 combo amps but they dont sound that great.

Have i been doing this wrong the whole time?

Whats the whole point of buying guitar amp SIM if you never actually use them? since you're actually using your amps distortion to mix the sound.

You can do whatever you want, there is no rule for anything.

What you said in your post that you do with the DI and amp sim, is in fact reamping in itself. You are just reamping using software, not external amps.
