Talk about a big surprise Blackout!!!
I'm really glad to see you there!

Shit man you don't waste time I posted this thread only about a minute! :)

As for me, I think that the titles are wonderful. It's simple yet VERY efficient. Also, It's very interesting that it's, in fact, the mellow one who's called Damnation and the Heavy one called Deliverance.

Can't wait for those damned Travis Smith artworks!

Anyway welcome aboard
By the way, that a real nice avatar you got there! Really nice

Every time I hear the word Deliverance I think of that damn movie with dueling banjos.

SQUEAL LIKE A PIG!

You're reading my mind man.

I'm also hapy not having the dueling banjos picture in my mind *shudders*

Neither bad nor good. Definitely not amazing, definitely not terrible.. but if they suit the music (or contrast it well, which seems to be what they are going for) and fit in well with any concept (if there is one) then the titles are fine.

Im really turning against titles lately though. If i had my way id release an album with no titles or band name or anything, just the music... but then nobody would know what to buy or how to refer to it so i guess its good the way it is!

I like them. Somehow different to the titles of their previous albums, though. Anyway, I wonder if this is a hint at some concept or storyline, considering it probably would have been more obvious to name the heavy one Damnation and the mellow one Deliverance.

Well I voted that only Deliverance appealed to me but still I was expecting something more grand. Damnation on the other hand... I don´t know, but i can´t really say until i´ve seen the song titles and artwork.

Hehhe, Sigur Rós wont have any song titles on their upcoming album and it doesn´t have a name. I personally do like the idea of having song titles and album names... If they are good ofcourse...

yeah, i agree with mindflesh: it's strange that damnation is the title of the mellow album, but who matters... i'm sure opeth have made great things for the 6th\7th time out of 6\7 eheh...

two thigs i would like to notice:

1.the heavy album is made by 5 songs + a short instrumental... so these songs should be very, very long... a new morningrise?

2.all the stuff has been recorded... i thought they would record the mellow album later... but again, who matters about it!

bye

I don´t think thats the case, if they are around the 10 minute mark (the "normal" opeth length?), then we have 50+ minute album (excluding the instrumental) which is not that bad expecially when there are only few months between releases. Vintersorg released an album thats 40+ minute long and that´s a fine lenght if the material is good.

I really really like the title My arms, your hearse. :)

Nothing can be worse than the title "My Arms, Your Hease." Great album, cheesy title.
Cool title, not too good an album... hehe.

The new titles are OK, gotta wait to hear the albums and then say if I think the titles fit... Cool the heavy one is only a month away!
