Does anyone here ever take local demos and try and master em?

I found some demos of other bands from different studios- and they sound kinda shitty so i been taking the time to try and restore sone liveness to the mix..... its hard cause i really wanna remix or replace some sounds in the audio
Just wondering if anyone else has tried this kinda thing--cause if i wanna get good at polishing up some music, its best to try and fix (shit) sometimes LOL haha
