I know that Opeth loves these guys so I decided to give em a spin and these bastards are weird! They kinda reminded me of Depeche Mode. Which is cool cause I love DM. But I wanted to download some songs and Im sure there has to be at least one fan of theirs here, so I wanted to know some good songs that I should check out. Any suggestions? Thanks

all of their stuff is great ...my fav. song would have to be "russia on ice" and "she's moved on"....if you're going to purchase an album i'd suggest "lightbulb sun" and then "stupid dream" , but i can honestly say that all their stuff is exceptional .

Neat band. "Lightbulb Sun" and "Recordings" are the best albums, I think, and from the early ones I like "Up the Downstair". The rest are kind of uneven - with some brilliant moments though.

Porcupine Tree are phenomenal! A Great band, no doubt.

I'd recommend that you D/L the following:

In Formaldahyde (spelling?)
Lightbulb Sun
Even Less (long version)

ah yes, porcupine has grown to be one of my faves.

ive been listening to the live cd Coma Divine a lot recently, amazing cd!

Get the song 'The Skies Moves Sideways', and youll know what im talking about!

Ok when I made my first post I only had the song This Long Silence and that has the DM kinda sound, a little techno. But Ive been getting more and they sound nothing like DM. I can defenately hear the influence they give to Opeth. I got Shes Moved on and that song is fucking amazing! I love it! I got it last night and heard it about 3 times. I also got Russia on Ice and thats a long ass song. I only heard it once but its a great damn song too. Than I d/led a whole bunch more over night while I slept and I just finished hearing Moonloop live which is a great damn long instrumental. I also got Even Less (14 mins, is that the long one?) and Im just starting to hear it now. I got a whole buncha other songs, but it looks like I didnt get any of the others you guys suggested! I gotta get those now.

The electronic part of SMS phase one (labeled Wire The Drum) and Spiral Circus are incredible.
