Help with Porcupine Tree

hey, ive been trying to find Porcupine Tree songs from every cd to see which cd to buy of theirs, but i got lazy and they all seem pretty good anyway....so im just gonna ask you guys, which damn cd should i buy (that i can get my hands on)? right now im leaning towards Lightbulb Sun..

Lightbulb Sun is much more " light pop" than most of their records. I suggest Signify to an Opeth fan.

well, I have stupid dream so far and I think its pretty good. the stuf I've heard from signify seemed really poppy. then again, some stuff on stupid dream does too

Anyway, I suggest Lightbulb Sun then Signify. I also recommend that you get Recordings some time...great stuff. It really doesn't matter, though. You'll be happy with whatever you get. I still need to buy Stupid Dream.

get recordings, lightbulb sun, or stupid dream. i wouldnt get their earlier stuff first, its too out there.
And get their new album in september .

Jeez, you should probably start with "Stars Die" as that compiles a good cross-section of their early material. Although it is kinda hard to find, I had to buy mine at a Porcupine Tree show. If you can't find that double-disc, try either "The Sky Moves Sideways" if you're into trippy jam-session type music or "Stupid Dream" if you prefer the more acoustic side of things. They're all great, though.
