What I want to do is program drums onto a track, but I need a free program to download. Any help would be very, er, helpful. Remember, it has to be FREE! (I have no money... )

Now I've never used this site for any illegal purposees you understand ;) but Kazaa is on of those 'file sharing' thingies that people 'share' stuff on.

On a totally unrelated topic. 'Cakawalk' and 'Cubase' are the best
(IMHO) programs for programming drum sections (I use Cakewalk). I just thought I'd 'share' that with you  .

i know one that works with midi that its free, but you should really make your conscience aside ( if you have one thats it ) and download some high end audio programs on warez channels. Cubase its the ultimate program for drum programing ( on Midi ) however if you are like me and do not own a good enough soundcard to get asome midi sound, you could try Acid Pro. Acid its not intented to be for drum programing, but it has alot of flexibility to use samples and, in our case, drum samples. Its really user friendly, the editing of the sample its painless ( if you know what you are doing, if you dont first figure out all the drum parts THEN write them ) and its very solid. There are many programs as good but acid has something to it wich i find nice.

rustymetal, do what the man says and download illegaly..Each program is between 10 and 20 MB so they are no hassle at all to download..

Cubase VST
(Have you got this version Misanthrope?) Its got great plugins to put in drum samples for midi drums.. its what i use, ive got an extra little plugin for the drums as well, its LM-4, which is a 1000x better than the free LM-9 which comes with cubase.

Cakewalk, Cooledit
get both of these as well, Cooledit doesnt do drum programming but itll open up your eyes to the world of home recording!!
I also have a small Cakewalk plugin called "Amp Sim".. some people could find that very useful, its a DirectX plugin so once you install it in Cakewalk it works in all your programs which support plugins!!

Theres a couple of warez people that specialise in 'music appz'. Paradox and Oxygen i think, but if you search for 'music appz' you should soon enough find the right names and stuff, it might take a while to locate but if you keep an eye on one of those warez sites which get daily submission of warez programs (such as www.katzwarez.com) then they eventually pop up.

CoolEdit Pro 1.2a

One of my band members is thinking of getting Pro Tools, which is worth $AUS2300!!!! Now that would be cool!! Id definitely be able to get an album out if he does that!! :)
