I think distortion on all Zoom pedals is crap. I had a Zoom 505 and couldn't get a decent distortion sound out of it, so I asked on here. The general opinion was that Zoom pedals are crap.
Well I grabbed a Marshall Jackhammer, which is just O/D and Distortion. It seems to be extremely powerful and loud, at the expense of my 10 watt amp not being able to handle it, haha... i'd make a recommendation on it if I actually heard it played on a decent set up, but I guess if you're looking for 'loud' thats the way to go.
I have a Rocktron Intellifex ltd and those have great effects(no distortion tho) but the only thing I really use lately is also a POD. I have the 2.0 version and it just kicks ass!!!very nice distortion I've recorded guitarparts with it on a computer with Pro-Tools and the sound is just crushing heavy
DracWell? have you ever used your POD live? and if yes how did it sound?
you should check out the digitech multi-fx pedals...they are a lot better. I have a rp200 and i think it's pretty damn good for its class.
the POD 2.0 is fucking good....tone is amazing, you can get almost any type of sound on it. The effects on it aren't great but they're not too bad. The POD is around 250 Us dollars
