great acting. great plot... but every other scene, you see the fucking Microphone. sometimes you even see the ENTIRE FUCKING BOOM STAND! Waste of $9. Once you start getting into it, the mics bring you back to reality.

hahahahahahaha

I remember hearing a lot of people complaining about that in Lord Of The Rings, but yet most never see it. I read the reason was that "the film itself has a larger shot and it's up to the theater to cut that region around the edge?!" whatever that's a lame excuse.

Roger Ebert says

"Many projectionists lack the skill or the equipment to properly frame movies in their original aspect ratios. This problem is more common than you might think. When you see a boom microphone dipping down from the top of the screen, especially more than one in the same picture, the odds are overwhelming that the fault lies not with the filmmakers, but with the projectionist right there in your theater, who is showing the film in the wrong aspect ratio and allowing you to see more than the intended visible picture area."

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking.

Saw it in theaters at a really good theater, no mics. The DVDSCR, cut at 16:9, not in there either.

I saw the ones in disturbia when I saw it at a theater, but not when I saw it on DVD.
