Its a great tradition, if only we didnt have crappy bullfighters who dont know how to kill the animal properly and end up torturing the poor bastard. He did deserve it. I dont enjoy bullfighting really, but I have people in my family who have been close to the tradition. These bulls dont always get killed either, they can be given a chance to keep living however that doesnt happen that often. All in all if bullfighting was done the way it was meant it woudnt be so bad, but it isnt that way.

Well, had to post. I didn't say that it shouldn't be banned, I'm just saying I can see why some people manage to enjoy this tradition. If you have seen bullfighting since you were little and people thinking its ok then you won't think poorly of it. I also think the matador deserved it. I personally do not enjoy seeing animals getting killed or tortured. Yet that happens with all the animals you eat every day: cows, chickens, etc... I agree its a lot weirder to have people watch it for fun, but banning bullfighting doesn't solve the real problem does it? And that is People mistreating/killing/torturing animals.

I refer you to my 2nd post, fair enough 100-200 years ago it was an accept form of entertaiment, I mean, in Victorian times (Here in the UK) people used to watch surgeons performs ampucations on a regular basis as there was no such thing as a TV, now there are TV's, cinema's, computer games and midi-systems, we are now full of choice for entertainment, as I said we all as human beings should be moving away from bloodsports which serve no purpose but to tortue animals in an inhumane way, there is nothing dignified about a bull get slowly tortued to death.
Animals do serve a purpose as food, this acceptable but they at least are killed quickly, granted not all the time, some will die an agonising death due to failure of killing them properly but the fact remains, there is a huge difference killing an animal for food and entertainment
I am also against using animals for experiemnts for beauty products but quite happily accept the fact them being used for experiements that will benefit the human race like for example heart, liver, lung and kidney transplants
Oh I was meant to say, I respect you mate for coming out stating that you personally don't enjoy it and I respect your opinion and thoughts on this matter, I am in no way attacking you personnally so please don't think to hold back from expressing your thoughts in case, in your words, cause offence or create a fuss, this is a discussion forum and it would take something special to cause offence, so please, fully express yourself, just as long you don't say something like "I love having sex with children" then we will have a huge fuckin problem
It's just a cultural thing. People in Spain see animals in a different way to us in Britain, or so I'm led to believe. Although I don't agree with animal abuse, I also think that people shouldn't be so critical of other cultures they don't understand.
