Doomcifer's job: official thread

interesting. some laws amaze me. im always flabbergasted by people that have declared bankruptcy. just didnt feel like paying that bill............so they didnt. but supposedly those bankrupcy laws are more strict. yeah, right.

That's the thing. THEY have more rights then US. The law protects them, not us. It's pretty fucked up. It charges off after 60 days with us and goes to the main office for them to handle after that. Year after year, these fuckers get more and more savvy. I give this industry another 10 years before the skip margin goes from 2% to 10% and they lose their fucking balls if they don;t get law enforcement on their side.

amazing ... sounds like the word is already spread in the area that it's ok to "rent" and not pay ... all will be fine. not a bad gig for the renter

so wait. 98% of the people make all their payments? or they bring the shit back willingly?

HELL NO! "Company Standard" for write-offs is 1.8%-2% but it seems like it gets worse and worse. Thats what we WANT to hit for a percentage. I mean, statistically, most people aren't out to burn you but in my line that;s all the people I deal with. I don;t deal with the good customers since they dont have to deal with me if they pay their bill. Shit, last month my store's write-off % was around 7%. We have had SO many people just move and try to get away with it. That;s the thing too...you can have an ACE customer, but as soon as they see that glimpse of light that they just may get away with it, they will try.

Yes, definitely. The Pawtucket store, over the past 5 months has gotten word spread on the street that it is an easy store to get shit from. The management was all fucked up and let everything go out the door, hence an astronomical amount of people setting them up and stealing shit.

and some people have bad luck hit them in fucking buckets and legitimately declare bankruptcy.
true. medical bills can do that quite easily.

question: how is that so many people are so poorly educated that they will "rent" a crappy consumer good rather than save and pay cash for it - thus avoiding the 200% markup? or another: how is it people are so uneducated that they feel they *need* crappy consumer items to make themselves happy?

one of my friends declared bankruptcy some years ago ... once the slate was wiped clean, all the money he now made was saved obviously (luckily he met his future wife at this time as well, that was really good with money management).

"supposedely" you will not get any credit for about 5 years after bakcruptcy ...but of course if the moolah starts accumulating fast in your bank, like it happened with my friend .... those CC offers start coming mighty fast again.

Two great questions. I have the answer for #1 but not #2. If they have it, they WILL spend it. These people don't have banking accounts either.c'mon now. Most are on gov't assistance. We need to just cut ALL fucking assistance except for like 3% of them, have them survive if they can, and call it a day.

it must be said at this point that this thread is on page 3 and still on topic ... an RC first for sure :kickass:

LMAO! :kickass:

Hopefully I have some stories tomorrow. Saturday mornings are usually good times for holy hell to break loose on the road.

In our case, our family business dragged us down. My parents dream nearly killed us. Combination of being buttfucked by mother nature for 2 years, then the government decides to double-stuff us for another 2. We survived only due to my dad being so good at handling people, and my mom being an amazing bookkeeper.

And yeah, when your in the bankruptcy process, you're watched like a fucking hawk.

dont even get me started. right smack in the middle of nashville is some PRIME, prime i tells ya, real esate. whats on it? acres and acres of projects. it sad. to get from the nice part of downtown to the nice burbs, we gotta drive through this. i mean, it's ALWAYS amusing but the wife recently pointed out how much that land is worth. and how it's just going to waste.

sorry to hear that about the family ... having a business myself I can relate to ups and downs and juggling money all the time.

one thing that the Bush administration did good though since in the White House ... it has definetelly helepd small business. The tax breaks and help it receives is quite amazing.

I am not a republican, but even at this low level that I am in the business world I can feel the "republican" mentality ... the positive part of it.

Dude, it;s frustrating. I have broken doorbells before from hammering away at them!!! I have broken so many laws, but in my industry, it is the norm. So fucked up!

The best is when you actually get into the customers house, you start getting heated, they wont let you take the TV or w/e even though you;re already in their house, they tell you to leave, so you have to, so you just go up to the bigscreen with your knife and either cut the chord from the back and/or put it through the screen, or your foot..whichever your instincts tell you to do.
