Dornereich (metal) & Agalloch Tour 2009

aggalloch was better, dornenreich sounded a bit thin, then again, the venue often has crap sound, but it was good for agalloch. Might just be the limitations of 2 instruments.

Still it was good fun. There was 4-5 songs from the good album, a few from hexenwind and I think it was a new one called Jagd.

At the end of the sets when people were yelling "zugabe" I started to yell "fuck Bertrand" and "die französen können warten". You guys wouldn't complain if they were an hour or so late right?

been a loooong time since I last saw a decent metal showbill. Indeed last time the headliner was called Primordial and the venue was Swizzlenuts' bedroom...

A revamped version of "The Lodge" was dedicated to Neige, himself part of the crowd [/gay] . Good gig.

The whole evening was like a kaleidoscope of Gay Pride snapshots unfolding before my wet eyes. “Technically” not a splendid show – also the Agalloch set was too short by at least two songs (Bloodbirds ffs) – but the joy of being there, seeing Dornenreich kicking ass again after an eight years hiatus, seeing Agalloch perform these glorious songs with accuracy and soul, is enough.

PS: I saw Neige but was too shy to ask if I could fondle him a little
PS 2: besides, yay for Haughm’s Vlad Tepes shirt
