Hey, me and my band are going to record some songs that have some acoustic parts in them. Thing is we're tuned to C standard and I have no idea about string gauges for steel stringed acoustics. Any advice would be great. :)
Come to think about it I should probably get heavier strings for my electric too. Using .10-.52 light top heavy bottom for my 27" baritone LP. Wanted to be able to tune to E standard for my other band without having to switch strings twice a week. But for the recording now I should probably get heavier ones. (again for C standard)

I use 12-53 on my D standard acoustic, so something a bit thicker should be perfect. 13-56 maybe? You won't be able to use the same gauge strings to go between E and C standard without having them way too loose for one tuning or way too tight for the other. Sounds like you need to save up for another guitar to use for all your E stuff.
