Is there something i missed out on, where this argument stems from?? I dont see the connection?? Personally not being a musician and vocals being a focus on what gets me drawn to a lot of music, I cant appreciate Dream Theater like I do Symphony X . I suppose this to would be a stupid example, not much unlike this comparison, but at G3 i couldnt get into petrucci as much as vai and satriani. It's all personal preferance, some people could think a whole record of feed back is better than either of these bands.
