Drum recording clinic/FAQ: Any interest?

One of the things that I've found is to take the pitch indication on a drum with a grain of salt. We tuned all of my drummer's (nice DW) toms to the pitches they were designed for, and they sounded like the Blue Man Group's PVC pipes!

Drums are the hardest thing to get right, I've never gotten a good miked kit sound without help from somebody more experienced.
