I don't know you, guys, but I love LFDGD's drumming. I don't know, but it has a nice rhythm, it doesn't sound dull or repetitive. The beats are precise and I love how the ride and the hi-hats sound.

And, BTW, why does Day's drums sound... well, different?

LFDGD is a great album all together. Then again so is everything Katatonia has put out. :p.
The drumming is really great eh? It flows well. I myself am a drummer. The drum tracks are the first thing I usually pay special attention to when I buy a new CD.

I also play the drums (not much, but at least a couple times a week), and with my first album from Katatonia (Discouraged Ones) I just absolutley love the progress that seems present in the drum tracks (no offence to Jonas, he's still great, and the drumming was very fitting, although simple, on Discouraged Ones, but I thought Tonight's Decision was great, and LFDGD was just amazing).

The vocals are ultimatley what I always listen for the most though. If I were ever to put in the effort to be in a band, I'd have to be the vocalist, not the drummer. I'd love to just jump around and sound something like Ben Falgoust or Pete Helmkemp.

Evil Genius: Awesome another drummer :).

The song you're listening to: Everytime I see anything related to Goatwhore, it reminds me of the time I took one of my old friends and my little cousin to a damned nu-metal show for my cousins b day. (this was like 2 or 3 years ago) I had the most HORRIBLE time! :(.

But, this guy was wearing a Goatwhore shirt, and my friend was all making fun of him and stuff...after she gave me this long talk about how people shouldnt be made fun of for things they like. She was really....erm..I dunno Fake I guess is the word I'm looking for. Ahh well. Just thought I'd share that with you. :) I on the other hand like what I have heard of Goatwhore

Heh, maybe it could have been justified in making fun of the guy for wearing a Goatwhore shirt at a nu-metal show! :D
Just kidding... maybe he was under the influence? :)

Yeah, Goatwhore are classic.

Yeah! I also really love the drums on LFDGD, the way they sound, the way they're played, just great! They flow very well, groove big time and the sound just pounds! Love the snare sound!

I too always pay a lot of attention to the drums, I am not a drummer myself, but my brother is and I am an "air-drummer" myself

Yea, maybe he was under the influence....if it wasn't for it being my cousins b-day....I wouldn't have went.
I'm nice like that....putting myself through torture...for the ones that I love.

heheh, I believe in the virtue of selfishness. Or maybe I just don't love anyone enough (at all?) to go through torture if it weren't in my self-interest. :p

Hmmmm.... being under the influence is fun.

I think the drums on LFDGD add quite alot to the songs. I like Jonas' understated style of playing, fits the music perfectly, but the new songs, I couldn't picture them with him playing, they would be completely different.

Like MadTinus, I too am an air drummer  I can't get through a Nightwish album without joining in, I know all the beats and fills to Oceanborn and Wishmaster  (something about their drummer, he just does really cool stuff :D).

I still think my drums are the greatest toy I've ever had, but for the last couple of months, I haven't been able to come up with anything new to screw around with. I highly suggest for all "air drummers" to go get a nice cheap set (if it's possible) and satisfy your obvious drumming needs :)

hahah, my roommates would *love* that :)

Origin has the best drummer ever.. holy friggin crap.. yeah but I play guitar.. haha.. wish some of you drummers were in DC! Need someone who can play some death metal.. most of the drummers around here I can just program better than.. no reason to use them.

I do still enjoy jonas's style alot, But Daniel Liljekvist lives up to being a good drummer. Man he beat the crap out of that kit on LFDGD. I hope he does so again on the next album. Very impressive well thought out work from a great thinking drummer.
