Dual rectifier wattage

I'm talking about the output transformer!
what's the wattage ?
On the back it says 4 Amps... is 4Amps equal to 300 watt? is it less ? more?
I'm gonna buy a usa dual boogie and I want to know what step down transformer to buy.
I emailed mesaboogie but they told me nothing about what's the right output, they just told me buy our shit it will be good.
Anyway I wanna buy a step down that want turn a boogie into a "fireball" :heh: :lol::lol::lol:
If you know a good shop in europe cheap would be great, anyway in the future my tech will mod the amphead to make it work with 220V but for now I need that thing.

What exactly do you want to do? If you just want to get it down to 60 Watt from 120 then you can pull one pair of power tubes....

If you want to use a 110 Volt head with 220 you cant just replace the transformer with any transformer with enough watts. A boogie transformer has special windings for the spongy mode and there are many other things that are special about it. That's the case with every amp. Aside from that the transformer influences the sound alot. You either need a 220 V boogie Recto transformer or forget about it. The output transformer you refer to is the transformer used to drive the speakers and it should be the same for the 110 and 220 Volt models, because it has nothing to do with the voltage the amp runs on....

You didn't get it.
I try to make it clear, maybe I wasn't...
I want to us an american guitar head (110V) with the european voltage 220V
I need to know what's the wattage of the output transformer, not the "sound" power of the amp.

Got it....the transformer you talk about is NOT the output transformer....that lead me in the wrong direction. The output transformer is the transformer between power-amp tubes and speaker. Back to the question: If it read 110 Volt and 4 Amperes that makes 440 Watts. Which means you need to get at least a 440 Watt transformer. Putting a transformer in front of an amp changes it's sound/feel especially in the bass frequencies though....

you can score a 2ch dual recto for 1100 euro if you look hard enough. ebay is your friend.

I won an auction for a dual channel recto for 1059 Euros, the one you say it's the three channel if I'm not wrong.
I wanted to buy the dual channel because God said it's the best.
anyway it will be shipped with canadian postal service fully insurenced.
Hey Oznimbus how is the canadian postal service? If it's not good I'll ask for ups, 235 dollars from america, I don't know from canada how it will be.
