Duke Nukem Forever is dead :((

since midway is going to close their doors aswell and the mortal kombat dev team will be sold to another company (it's not sure which one yet) I think this could happen to duke, too.

Duke Nukem If Ever, Duke Nukem Whenever

I also think that even if it was released it would end just like Daikatana and Too Human. I´m sad because I was expecting the Duke Nukem trilogy that they've announced to PSP this year, and I bet that they will be canceled too. Anyway, fuck that, this year Modern Warfare 2 hit the shelves :D

nah
it isnt a reason not to buy their games, im just being facetious to an extent
shame that most of their games are truly, staggeringly, awe inspiringly...
average. D:

brothers in arms road to hill 30 was hyped to no end, i bought it on release day and it was just..
not that great
half life: opposing forces was fucking awesome though, but how they managed to destroy the pacing of the voice acting in Brothers In Arms compared to ancient games aswell as modern games is beyond me.

the fact that their games are so consistently average combined with randy pitchford has made me damn near vow to never play another gearbox game :tickled:
but i will try borderlands, cos i have to admit, the whole MILLIONZ OF GUNZ LOLZ thing is pretty cool.
but that will probably end up being 50 odd guns with a whole lot of pointless weapon mods that wont really change shit.

I guess I can see how someone would think Brothers in Arms is an average series.

Regarding Borderlands though, I'm more interested in the RPG elements of the game. Such as having various quests that can mutually exist. I also hope they live up to the no loading screen claim.

Good news: EA, Microsoft, Epic and ID Software are all interested in da Duke. Seems like Take2 aren't selling the rights though and there's some rumors that they got some $$$.

Btw, leaked gameplay of Duke Nukem Forever:

Its a hoax! They didnt really shut down 3D-Realms!
THEY CANT TAKE MY BABY AWAY AGAIN! :(

LIEZ!

I don´t understand, the intro and outro of this video clearly show this is just a portfolio from a 3D artist, this Bryan Brewer, showing his modeling and animation skills. Oh, and by the way, the track going on is amazing. It´s the Duke Nukem theme played by Megadeth (bonus from the album Risk).

Yes, it is his portfolio, but it shows his work from the animation point to in game. ;X

It did look fucking awesome
I reckon the 12 year wait would have been worth it

Ok so here's how it works

The game can only be made if 3D Realms sells the rights to the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.
All Take2 owns is the PUBLISHING RIGHTS.
Take2 offered to buy the rights to Duke Nukem, but that means the ENTIRE series, not just DNF, and 3DRealms are advocates of holding onto your IP, which is fair enough.

So the fact that 3DRealms own the intellectual property (which is what really matters) complicates this whole situation.
It's not as simple as Take2 selling the rights because all they own is the right to publish it.
