Marylin Manson is industrial/goth/ nu-metal- ish... it's so far from the original element that it's silly to call it "metal"
However, "metal" is so robust and has so many sub-genres it's kind of silly to think we have an exclusive possession on the definition..........

Dude MM concerts are fucking awesome. Aside from all the Hot Topic victims, he puts on one of the best shows I've ever seen. I don't really like him or anything, but his concerts are epic...like Iron Maiden kinda epic.

Yeah I will not own his CDs but when they play his songs in my club in DC I actually enjoy it.
Plus, I think his art is awesome. The whole look/ make up/ style is great. Very creative.

I saw Manson back in 1996 during the Antichrist Superstar tour and I'll admit that they put on one hell of a show.

I dig some of Manson's older stuff and listen to it on occasion but I would definitely not classify Manson as metal. Industrial Metal, maybe? That's kind of tricky when you compare Manson with Ministry.....

I remember in elementary or middle school there was the rumor that he had his lower ribs taken out so he could blow himself.

i remember when i was 13-15 and in junior high (holy FUCK, like 6 years ago - before it was cool to shop at hot topic and cut yourself, etc) and mentioned that i liked marilyn manson, people would say shit like that.
"You like marilyn manson?! He got his ribs removed/worships satan/sacrifices babies to the devil!!"
"Yeah... how could i NOT like him?!?"
