How do you say metal, as in the music genre? I'm guessing it's probably Metal. If so, what is the gender? Also, do you just say power metal, black metal, death metal, etc, or would it be something like "schwarze Metal"?

Do you have an idiom for "rest in peace"?

Normally you use metal or heavy metal without an article, so the gender is of no importance. like in 'Ich höre Heavy Metal'. If you really need a gender for it i would always consider heavy metal as male. like in 'Ich höre guten heavy metal' and not 'Ich höre gute heavy metal' or 'Ich höre gutes heavy metal'. For subgenres we use the normal english terms.

You can say 'Ruhe in Frieden' tho it is not as common as 'Rest in Peace' in english everybody will surely get the idea!

The French and Walloons are horrible at pronouncing band names. They'll all pronounce them in the French phonetic system. Idiots.

You can find "Ruhe in Frieden" everywhere on gravestones ... i guess nearly every third one has it on it`s top ... so i dunno think that it`s not common here where we speak german ... :| seriously i`ve never seen any gravestone with "rest in peace" here :|
