I'm a real newbie when it comes to electrical domain. I've just noticed I can feel a small current when touching the connector of my jack when connected to my guitar amp. What does it mean and what is the cure?
The electrical installation in my house is quite old but there's ground pin (3 prong) on each outlet I'm using...
Help!:erk:

Yes of course I've been considering this but in the meantime, there's obviously something wrong with either the amp or the installation, and I'd like to know how to solve it.

Buy a cheap voltage probe/tester (with a led display) and check if it is your amp or installation.

If it is the latter you will have to buy a power conditioner (100$-1000$) and/or fix the cables in your walls (proper shielding which will prevent your ground wire from receiving (induction) the voltage from hot wires and/or a ballanced installation which will cancel out any unwanted power noise).
