eleven years

i didn't really date a lot... but i caught the gist of what most females were like (at the time) ...she just stands out more than any other woman!

and yes, of course she's fit! ...since summer she has been on a strict circuit training diet. after eleven years she has never looked so good! :)

i agree... to everyone else that has been in a long, happy relationship. you should be very proud! (i know what it takes... and it takes a lot) esp. if there are kids involved.

*no kids here.

You're doing it right man.
Chicks that look after their health = win
I could just not be with a girl who doesn't exercise/eat well anymore.
If they don't do that, they would be shown the door.
The healthy ones definitely have more self esteem, less/no body image issues and are just all around more positive people :)

yeah man! i totally agree! most women are really self conscious. but not this one! (forgive my generalization).

we met in high school... (a military school actually).

she was into electrical engineering (like me)... and we became really great friends (solder buddies). then a while after high school we met again at a kick boxing/mma clinic in la. and the rest is history.

so the fundamental basis of our relationship was about physical fitness.

i always contemplate how a dude like me could end up with a chick like her. :)

Thats awesome for you dude!!!! Congrats Sir.

Personally, ill never get married!!! ANNND my relationship cycle is 3 years at the most. After that, I cant fucking stand whoever im dating.
I wont buy into that " I need to marry someone to feel like a real person BS". Not saying its bad for everyone, because i believe some people need to be married. Most people cant stand being alone, and they gauge their self worth on who they are with. Im the opposite, I like living alone, and being left the fuck alone. Cant be married and have that. Atleast not a successful marriage. :D Some people find a person that likes them and then have to hold onto them because there wont be anyone else for them. Being together by default. I know alot of people like that. I couldnt imagine being with the same person for years and years. Thats a scary thought!!!

dang man...congratulations, that must be beautiful.

...i guess im entering that age were i need to settle down and have a family...or at least that's how i feel.

thanks dude!

maybe not settle ...but it's nice to have a person you can be stupid around, to travel with ...etc.

thanks again everyone... it's cool to see the level of commitment on this forum!

i can dig it, man... i have never been married. i don't really plan on it either.

whatever happens: happens.

i think my woman is getting the biological itch though. so we will get married before any of that stuff starts to happen, ya know?

i have worked with engineers (old timers) that have never been married... and will never be married, simply because it gets in the way of there gear fetish. it's comical.

but like i said, i can dig it.

Congrats man, absolutely envy that.
Want to ask, did it take you a while to find the right one? Like as in, going through quite a number of girls before you got there.
Getting too told for the headcase type girls, and just really want to find someone more mature and settled down, and just seems so hard to do.

I'm not sure I can say - I was not thinking about the long term when I met my wife (she even jokes that I was supposed to be a "one night stand"). I was 26 at the time, I had a long term serious relationship that had fallen apart about six months earlier in a big ugly breakup. I became a little bit of a social recluse over those six months until one night my best friend Shaun came over and told me he was tired of me being all mopey and shit and said we were going out to have a good time. We ended up at a local pub and long story short, I meet my wife that night. That "one night stand" continues to this day!

Hard to say how you find the "one' - it just seems to happen when you least expect it. I don't think you can really actively look for it.
