EMG 707 vs. 81-7 quick comparison clips

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that Jeff's guitar in the youtube vids had the clicky attack.
I just picked up his Guitar World instructional DVD. It sounds as though he's using a POD (fizzy as fuck), and there is NO click evident in the tone.

I know it doesn't help us, but I thought it might be worth posting to get some ideas flowing again.

Guitar World? I've seen the Young Guitar one, but not that one.

Is it worth picking up, apart from the sound?

It wouldn't hurt, being $20. He goes through his rhythm and lead stuff. Starts off with some basic chromatic warmups, then moves onto diminished alternate picking and sweeps. He spends some time going through afew heavy riffs, then the rest of the time going through solos, mainly based off his solo album.
What I like about it more than the actual songs/ solos is that you get to disect his technique and he talks about the way he aproaches things from both technical and creative sides.

Sounds interesting. Maybe we should ask Jeff if he noticed the same issues and how he got rid of em!

When I get the time I'm taking my guitar to Jim Cargill to take a look at it. It's my last hope here. After that I give up.

FWIW, I've found Line 6 stuff to significantly decrease the effect of different pickups and guitars, and AFAIK Jeff often uses a Pod, so I'm not surprised the clacking wasn't evident in the GW vid
