emo problems?

ummm...i know i origionated this thread, but i actually quite like some kse-i didnt include them as an emo band really, cause they've got some songs i can remember bits of,whereas the other havnt.
funny how people classify things differently to each other huh!

And the best part is that what you mention as a problem is mostly due because you're inside the scene struggling with your own band.

For me mallcore is not a problem...it doesn't even exist like pop or rap. I know what I want, I know where to get it, so I always have music flowing towards me. I never listen to radio, I seldom visit stores and besides a small bunch bands in the last few years (and Saxon and Anthrax coming in the next months) nobody plays here, so you don't feel overwhelmed by the "competition" either

Remember, if you don't pay attention they die of boredom. Atention is what keeps these things alive...like any other trend IMO.

Look, I'm not attacking you here... but how can you not consider them emo when THEY consider THEMSELVES Emo? I just don't understand the logic.

dont worry thraxz,i realise your not attacking me,its quite an interesting thing tho,how people view bands and genres.i didnt realise that they consider themselves an emo band.for me,thier songs have more melody and structure than the bands i'd consider to be emo,but if they say they are, then they are!

It could be said...what if, say, Judas Priest said that they were classical reggae with J-Pop influences? We all know they're Heavy Metal, but what if they didn't? :loco:

cant get round that fact i guess, but i still think of them more as a metal than an emo band-its like nu metal,or mallcore as wyvern calls it.i like some of those bands-disturbed,ill nino, even some of those linkin park songs are cool-you cant deny that these bands have written good songs.i'm not much of one for sticking to boundries just because people say that a band fits into a certain area.
the problem that i had was specifically with those bands whose style of music tended to be whiney screamy vocals, with no melody and no chorus-it just happens that the vast majority seem to come under the category of emo.

guess i'm being a bit generalised-i wont hate a band just for being in a genre,so i shouldnt attack a genre i dont like either, cause there probably always gonna be a band in said genre that i like-didnt like the whole grunge thing for example, but alice in chains and soundgarden are two of my all time fave bands, yet people class them in that genre.
i'm pissed and rambling.time to go to bed.please excuse me!

I'd rather remove my own balls with chopsticks than listen to gay emo fagaliscious horseshit. There, I feel better now . . .

Well Motorhead still denies they play metal, they play rock'n'roll.

Ian Gillan said once in an interview that if he's called a metal singer he kill himself

In the interview I wuoted in another thread Snowy Shaw says they play heavy metal, but now is called power :hypno:

In the end is not what people claim but what the listener believe, because the listener is the final consumer...and the customer is always right

Mongo: is nu-metal dude! Get on the vibe.

[Wyvern draw and shot Mongo straight between the eyes]
Wyvern: And nu-metal doesn't exist, they call it that way to try to hook people with the metal label, they're ain't metal, they'll never be. Mallcore they are and mallcore they'll be until they die.
