Emperors greatest hits

im a 15 year old without a job. i cant afford the entire collection. is the greatest hits worth getting or not?

Just buy In the Nightside Eclipse and, if you get the money, buy Emperor/Wrath of the Tyrant. Those are their only essential albums in my opinion.

I recently bought In the Nightside Eclipse, its my first Emperor album, and I think it is an all around awesome cd. My favorite songs on it right now have to be I Am the Black Wizards and Inno A Satana, but I havent listened to the other songs that much yet, but yeah. Also the cover of A Fine Day to Die is awesome.

The Emperor part of it is awesome. "Wrath of the Tyrant" and "Night of the Graveless Souls" are killer songs, plus the pre-Nightside versions of Black Wizards and Cosmic Keys sound great too.
But I never really got into the Wrath of the Tyrant part of that disc. The production is just too bad. I really hope they could re-record those songs to give them some listening value.

ix equilibrium is pretty good overall..... there is a couple of boring song still, like the last one.

Curse You All Men - 10/10
Decrystallizing Reason - 8.5/10
An Elegy of Icaros - 7.5/10
The Source of Icon E - 8/10
Sworn - 8.5/10
Nonus Aquilibrium - 8/10
The Warriors of Modern Death - 7.5/10
Of Blindness & Subsequent Seers - 6.5/10

The guitar tone is downright aweful on IX. Its so overproduced, too high in the mix, steril and grating to the ears.

IX Equilibirum is the Emperor I'm missing, other than Wrath, Anthems was really good, In The Nightside Eclipe was great, and Prometheus was just good.

I quite like Prometheus - The Discipline Of Fire & Demise, though it's a bit more brutal then the usual Emperor offering. Wrath of the Tyrant is also a good album, if you can overlook the poor sound quality.

But yes, In The Nightside Ecilpse is a MUST HAVE album.
