Hi There!

I would like to ask something to the band.
firedevil.gif

We all know that there´s a video of the NearFest Show in the Internet, as was posted here in the forum.

So, I´ve downloaded the whole show and burned into 2 SVCD and made also an opening and ending screens and made some screens for each of the songs, with the tittle and the name of their album.

The quality of the video is really amazing for an 128MB Internet file. And can be displayed in a Full Screen mode in a TV without great loss quality.
The sound is very clear and has a very good quality (i love to hear Ed´s Slaps) but it is in MONO.

:loco:What I am trying to say is::loco:

Isnt a good Idea if the band release this show as a DVD-R, like some other artists do in the Internet for the fans?

I wonder if the band could get the original video, with even a better quality and a Stereo sound and burn it into a DVD-R, not an Official Video, but just for the pleasure of the fans.:D

What you guys think about it?:hotjump:

Btw: I´m continuing my campaign. PLEASE COME TO BRAZIL!!! :loco:

HOWW???:OMG:

so you can say that you are a very lucky guy, because the original file is in mono, how did you do that???:hotjump:

Doubled the audio track and set the pan of the tracks to left and right???? explain your miracle!!!:D:D:D

I might be wrong, it sounds great in my ears but it might be in mono....

I will take sometime infround of my computer and se if I can make it a little more "stereo" sounding this weekend.

I can put a small clip and my website so that You can listen to it perhaps...?

But I don't want to break a copyright rule or so so I will just put up 10-30 sec in that case.

Mail me if You want!

Have a great day!

Henrik,

I´ve done this too, but the original sound is in mono, thequality is really good as we´ve said, but nothing like a Stereo sound. You can modify the sound to be a little more "stereo" sounding, but it wont be as good as a real stereo sound. Am I turning in circles?? ;)

But anyway, the show was amazing.:hotjump:

That whole show has been encoded as 192kpbs mp3's and sounds pretty impressive.
I d/l later last year and sounds very good.
Now using Cool Edit Pro,you can quite easily turn mono into stereo, and/or fix up the sound somwhat.
I use this to clean up average sounding audience recordings to quite good effect.

I did, and thanks for this, Hey I am right in the thick of doing my Basslines etc! I spoke with Doug about this in the studio and we will talk more as soon as we get this baby done! We have to get it done soon to meet the deadlines. But this is very cool! You all may have some really good opportunities for more of this very soon! It is looking good for a busy Enchant touring year! cross your fingers! there are some really cool things in the works!

OK I will e-mail you back very soon!

PS thanks Henrik and Gaz also for your tips here!

Hi Ed,

Touring????? :hotjump: Does that mean that we might be seeing you in Europe later this year? A tour AND a new album? That would be fantastic.

Although... Shortly after the release of every Enchant album our bass player refused to play his bass for a couple days and kept on murmuring something like: I am not worthy! The man needs help :)

All the best,

Guido

Now playing (all at the same time :)): Ray Wilson-Change / Jadis-Fanatic / Porcupine Tree- In Absentia)

Thats pretty good :) but I have to laugh about it. Yes a new disc will be out hopefully before September or late August. We are working hard right now to get it done. I will post another update soon! And yes it is looking like we will be over that way across the pond in September we hope! And it sounds like it will be a cool deal! I can,t tell any more yet about that however! Lets wait and see if it is going to happen first!

Hey PMF Jadis is a great band! and very good friends of ours! We did our very first European Tour with them! It was really something to remember! I personally am a big fan and really love there music! and miss those guys! Although I am hoping we will see them soon ???? Hmmm and I need to get that disc!

How is that Jadis album, knust? I have never heard Jadis before... but am interested since they are now signed to IOMA.

Hey PMF,

I like Jadis a lot. They have some samples on their website of the new CD Frantic

It is hard to describe them, but I'd say a very melodic guitar based band. Gary Chandler has a great warm friendly voice and is a great guitarist. The bassist and keyboard player are John Jowitt and Martin Orford of IQ, but have a warmer (the word that pops in my head when talking about Jadis

) sound. Maybe the best comparison of Jadis is It Bites. Guitars are riffy and sometimes crunchy, but they are not metal at all. Checkem out.

Reading all these replies, almost made me forget what the topic was :) And btw, Jadis sure is cool.

Anyway I am really looking forward to this bootleg DVD you're talking about. I am not the kind who goes through all the trouble of downloading stuff and burning DVD-roms or whatever. But I would surely buy one if any were released. I love Enchant's music and so far I have never had the chance to see them. I'm also looking forward to their European concerts. Great things are happening!

Back again...

Yeah, the new Jadis album is absolutely superb. It somehow reminds me of their first two albums, which were excellent.
I think that their music is absolutely worth buying: Great musicianship combined with excellent songwriting. Not as tough (?) as Enchant`s music but very melodious and sometimes even very relaxing (when their songs start to get spherical).
Apart from Doug Gary Chandler from Jadis is definitely one of my favourite guitarist, although he actually cannot be compared with Doug... (Two fairlly different styles...)
I remember the Hamburg gig with Jadis and Enchant a couple of years ago. I didn`t know Jadis then and only went there to listen to Enchant. Enchant was great and I didn`t like Jadis AT ALL, but a few years (!) later I bought a Jadis cd on a jumble sale and gave them a second chance. The music started to grow a lot on me and today I am the proud owner of all of their cds! I think that says it all...

A tour in September? Would be great!

The RealAudio file was better quality than the audio in the RealVideo file. I have a CD taken from that RealAudio file. Can't remember if it's in mono or not...

I made some Cd-R with the audio and they have a very good sound like i´ve said. But I´m completely sure that the audio is in MONO, and the sound seems to be recorded from the Mixer Console.

Maybe Ed or someone from the band could get the original file or tape or cd, or something with a better quality, and release it as a DVD-R!!! Let´s beg it to them!

As soon as we get this thing done we can work on this OK :) We are trying to finish up as we speak. Another week or two hopefully.

Hey e-mail Doug about that OK. Hey do you have a copy of this for me! It sounds like you know your stuff here! Question! I have been wanting to transfer all my 8 tapes from an old Sony Camcoder I used to record just about every show on the 94 and 97 tours! to CD format! I know it is $$$ but I am hoping to do this someday! It is good stuff! the sound is even pretty good on some of it! I ahve some great stuff actually! Like the show in Bonn Mike played would with us! and Milan Italy with 4,500 screaming fans bouncing to Below Zero!

Anyways a lot of thgis live stuff is really rough but pretty cool!
