"Windowpane" video MPEGs here!

For those of you having codec trouble, download this instead: http://download.divxmovies.com/mpeg2codec_installer.zip

If this program tells you the codec is already installed, choose to uninstall and then install this version. Worked for me.

It plays the vid, but it's stretched vertically, like it's the wrong aspect ratio. Same with the Swedish TV vids. Any clues what might be wrong?

To the guys that get slow jittery and vertical videos... it's the way the codec works when used with Winamp Media player. I just use a DVD player program such as Cyberlink Power DVD and it works just fine... without the codec.

Of course it works in a DVD player program, DVD player is basically an MPEG2 player, that's how DVDs are coded! But those progs are not free, and if you don't have a DVD drive, chances are you don't have a DVD player prog. I don't have a DVD player on my PC, only on my laptop.

Does someone know why this particular codec stretches the vid vertically? Is anyone else having this problem?

It's just about the aspect ratio. Unfortunately WMP doesn't have the option to change it, but there are lots of better alternatives for WMP. For instance a freeware-program BSPlayer:

http://www.bsplayer.org/
http://www.bsplayer.org/html/download.html

To change the aspect ratio in BSPlayer, open the videofile and press shift+3, that makes it appear in 4:3.
Hope this helps.

If you carry on posting here, I think you'll turn out to be very popular :D

Cool, thanx for a tip! I'll try it out.

Mine seems to be stretched a little too, but I don't care enough to patch my Media Player. :)

Thanks a lot. Every time I hear this song, it gets better and better.
