The remix has better sound quality, and comes with a couple of videos....but some people like the original better, I guess for the same reason people like badly-produced black metal.

Well, in the case of the original mix of EOR, it seems clear that the producer didn't understand Nevermore's sound. In the case of much black metal, the production is an attempt to create a specfic atmosphere and effect. Quite a difference, even if it's a negligable difference to the listener.
