I thought that was like an amazing album and one of the top 10 black metal albums ever, and I thought most other fans considered it a classic to. But recently I was talking with a friend and he said the album was garbage, and then I looked up a bunch of reviews of it and most were pretty negative. SO did you like the album and how do you think it compares with the rest of their stuff?

It's a great album, I listen to it a lot. I prefer Below The Lights though, and I never quiet understood why the metal press wanked all over Isa and Ruun, good as they were.

Eld is indeed a great album, even though the drum sound is kinda tinny IMO, but it surely doesn't take away from the epic-ness of the album.

^ Yeah, the drum sound is "tinny" but great drumming anyway. One of my favorite albums by Enslaved. Battle of Lindensfarne is just fucking epic in every sense of the word.

I love Eld, but it does not deserve a thread of its own. In fact I'm a little pissed, when I first joined this forum every single time I started a new thread it was locked by V before I could even get one reply. I definitely see why now though, I get it.

Anyways, Eld is their best, but I have always preferred listening to Frost for some reason.

Below the Lights and Ruun are my favorites.

Two monster albums. But Eld is also damn great. And Isa, and Blodhemn. TBH they've never released a bad/weak album in my humble opinion.
