Frost is Enslaveds best release I think.. at least their more black metal release.

Eld and Mardraum is also really great albums from the era when they changed style

I owned Eld, and thought it was some excellent viking metal, but then all my cds were stolen.

I also have a bit problems with this albums.
I don't think that the guitar sound is that bad, though it might be better.
My problem is, that it does not have much that stays in my mind.
And it is too fast - before i can realize that there is some brutal part, or some melodic part, it is gone.
It is like trying to read Lord of the Rings printed to the side of a train that rushes past you...
But i'd like to get into it better, because i like the atmosphere and in fact i also don't think it's a bad album - should listen to it more...

Yeah, some of it is just too fast. I think Dissection have the same problem - they have some great tunes but a lot of their songs sound the same and go at a million bpm.
