Enslaved in Chicago - October 2

Both Enslaved and Alcest exceeded my expectations (which were actually pretty high to begin with) and the opening band Junia was actually pretty good too. Overall, a great show and a fantastic turnout. Does anyone know if it sold out or not? I know on Enslaved's Facebook during the day yesterday, they said it was close.

Glad you enjoyed the Bottom Lounge and Chicago in general, Brian. That's why I really never want to leave this area.

It was a great show last night. Real early, I was suprised myself. Alcest were great and would have liked to hear a few more songs before they left. Enslaved was awesome and glad they played something off Frost, personal fave of mine next to their new one.

Bob - I survived. I was exhausted Saturday. All day I was pub hopping and watching college football. The beers had worn off, but not the tiredness. Then I gave my all rockin out to Sacred Oath and Helstar. Wish I didn't have to leave midway thru Cage, cuz they sounded amazing. But I needed my rest. It paid off for the Sunday show. Alcest were awesome. Got my Ecailles album signed. Enslaved were the best I've ever seen them and that's saying a lot.

UUUNNNGGGGGGG!!! SO GOOD!!!

Despite being loyal until the very end, our crowd was pretty low-energy. Lame. Also lame that the show had to compete with Arch Enemy tonight in Minneapolis. I hope the band doesn't think St Paul sucks  I'd like to see them again someday.

I'm bummed I missed all of Junius and 99% of Alcest. 5 metal points deducted.

Don't miss this tour! I know there's a lot going of good stuff right now, but this is a must-go!

This show ruled, Bottom Lounge is one of the best venues I have ever set foot in, and Chicago is a kick ass city. ENSLAVED!!!

Bottom Lounge is great....for some reason lots of people dont like it. I love the food and the open space they have their. Plus the workers are laid back and stuff. Nice place with great sound.

Brian....what did you see in Chicago? wish we could have met up.

no worries....you made the show a blast when you were there. Most people left during Cage. By the end it was like out own private show.
