need that certain entombed guitar tone,
i guess its some odd pedals through a tube amp ?
wednesday will be the first rehearsal, need the right stuff till then.

I bet older stuff are Boss Heavy Metal. Saw them 13 years ago, they had Dual Rectifier stacks.
Edit: Unicorn was faster....:p

defines "grind" !!!!
nowadays with this uberproduced polished sound
theres a lot of brutality going flöten (you know).

From the "Left Hand Path" CD Booklet:

"Left Hand path took about a week to record and cost us just over 1000 pounds, all told."

"We have Peavey amps, we have a distortion pedal and a Heavy Metal pedal and everything on 10...it's not hard really. The amp is actually very little, only 40 watts!"

Appearantly the key is Mids on 10, according to an interview about Left Hand Path in "Decibal", same interview they also mention cranking everything to 10... not sure what that's about.

its really mosty down to the hm2,
that sounds like entombed no matter what you plug it into.

Dismember have been using a HM2 and a 5150 and their make of "chainsaw" sound has always been my favorite. Entombed supposedly used (according to Rotten Sound's studio blog for the last record, where they mention a trip to Sunlight for tips on the "Entombed sound") Peavey Bandit 60s and HM2s for both Left Hand Path and Clandestine, the Peavey being miced with a Shure 58.
Enough details?

claro!

:-D. That sure sounds like the real thing Burny. Eventhough I was sooooo fed up and bored with that guitar sound by the end of 90's I need to get myself that pedal now. I really liked how Seizure had used it on his grind project. 2 tracks with it and 2 without it. It really works well as an additional effect, but if it's only that sound... hmm...

Guitar -> Boss DS 1 -> Boss HM 2 (made in Japan to be true) -> Peavey 40 W for that sound for sure. I got that info by asking Uffe Cederlund himself.
Anyway, there's a preset in Guitar Rig 4 and the heavy metal pink pedal from Behringer is a cheap copy of the HM 2.
And HM 3 is great too...
