Epica Meet n Greet package

I do however see a constant rise in prices though. has anyone seen the price for the Megadeth VIP?

For sure they're rising. I don't even want to know what the VIP is for Megadeth. Not my kind of music, but I randomly saw prices the last time Beyonce was on tour and saw that there were VIP's for fucking 1k to meet her and I was just blown away that people would actually pay that, no matter how famous she is. Sickens me, really.

Good lord. Really? I think i saw it on ticket master (megadeth) for over a bill. Funny, miles had to get a ticket since the show sold out from some like "we have tickets site" where he paid like $125 and change for A REGULAR TICKET.
Granted its his favorite band of all time. hahaha

There are people that will do anything for some bands/artists! lol

I once saw a guy eat a live snake for superbowl tickets....

Anyhow, your examples above are why I would NEVER EVER want to meet Lemmy or the Maiden boys. I seriously would be crushed if I met them and they were pricks to me. Everybody has bad days, and you never know when you might catch someone on one of them. Though that one bad experience would stick with you forever.

Let me calm your nerves on this.

OzzFest. Motorhead headlining 2nd stage. Night before the concert, West Palm Beach.

My buddy was a cop down there and we were crashing at his place and going to the show the next morning. That night he told us to hang at a certain bar because it was on his beat. So the night goes on, he shows up and drags me outside. He hands me an autograph of the entire band. Seems he pulled over a car with a broken tail light and a bus in front of the car pulled over as well. Motorhead's road manager was driving the car. He got to meet the entire band, assuming to get out of the ticket. But he said the guys in the band were GREAT and even ragged on the manager for getting pulled over.

It gets better. The next day my friend (since 8th grad) pulls me aside and says just follow my lead and we separate from the group and head to will call. Lemmy and Co. set him up with backstage passes as well. Holy shit.

Later in the day I'm testing out my pass, Wayne & Garth style, for System of A Down's set. I was backstage to the side just watching (not on the stage). Their security comes in during the 1st song and kicks everyone out being a complete ass hat. He looks at me and asks "who the hell are you with?" I reply "Motorhead", ass hat "OK you stay, everyone else get the fuck out". SOAD woman, I don't know which, she had a baby, was very nice and I BSd with her and had free drinks and deli.

Before Motorhead we were standing backstage as the band walked in 1 by 1 and busted on my friend for not being in uniform. Lemme was last and hung with us for a while... holy shit - Lemmy's talking to me, and making fun of my friend... he's like "gonna come up and watch the show" we're like yes, we just wanted to test the passes and get a chance to meet you... he's like no., come up on stage and watch the show.

:worship:

So, for the 1st time I ever got to see Motorhead, I met them, and stood not 6 feet form Mickey Dee during the entire set. :kickass:

Afterwards we were invited on the bus for beers... surreal? Yes. Mickey Dee fetching us beers??!?!?! :OMG: while other band members from the bill came on to get signatures?!?! :guh:

Don't be afraid to meet Motorhead, they're probably the most grounded guys I've ever met. The only other musicians who I've met that come close or were on equal footing were Doro and Fiona.

Asked him for a picture and thats when the grumbles started from him. you can tell when a person is ticked off and i could totally tell. I would have rather had him tell me he felt like shit and went on with his way. I would have still been kinda like pissy and WTF, but not like this.

It was shortly after when those die hard cubans came over that really sent me over the edge. He rolled his eyes and said, "great" as soon as my picture was snapped.

Photos with fans seem to be the bane of most artists. I have seen this many times. I think it has to do with what you think will be a simple request ("can I get a picture with you?"), but can possibly turn into a long drawn out situation. The first picture is lame, so you ask for another, then the flash doesn't work, then the thumb is over the lens, then ... on and on it goes. Not to mention that if he gets a picture with you, then everybody else is going to want one and if he doesn't give them a picture then he's on their shitlist instead of yours. I know you think it's just a minute or two out of their day, but try to put yourself in his shoes for a bit, especially if you're feeling like shit and just want to get away...

F#@k that, dude saying like it went down if no one likes it they will get over it or deal with.

Disagree. When you're in certain positions, like it or not, you must be politically correct publically. :saint:

Wow, just wow.
For someone who is about to tour with BG, you should probably cease your bagging on Iced Earth.

-What does this have anything to do with my post? Im pretty sure since then every one has come to the conclusion that most of them (mostly JS) are pretty self centered and dick like. Its not like im the first horn to blow here.
The reason he said that is because IE and BG have been friends for 20 years now, and your comments could easily be misconstrued. While the PPUSA Forum regulars can see that it's a frustrated fan posting about a bad experience, but by the time someone reads it out of context and relays it through a couple of middlemen, it could easily turn into "Seven Kingdoms is talking shit about Iced Earth."

You're a representative of your band and ultimately, that means that anything you say in a public forum like this can be attributed not just to your personal views, but to your band. It sucks that you can't speak as freely as you might like, but it would suck a lot more to develop a negative reputation in the industry.

Just to be clear, I'm not bagging on you at all, we're all fans and want to be able to freely discuss the positive and negatives of the bands we all like. However, you've crossed over from fan to professional and the things you say can have consequences for both you and your band.

If the artist is doing a signing, you ask for a picture. If the artist is at the venue before/after the show, you ask for the picture. If the artist is at fucking disneyworld, you walk by, say "I love your work," and keep going. Even the biggest celebs should get time off from the fans.

Totally true, I guess I just never thought about it that way before. Kinda figured the music would speek for itself when it comes to our still unyeilding allegance to Iced Earth as a major influence. Everything about us has some "Icing" on it HAHA!

But, yes. Thanks for pointing that out. I never would have thought about it like that honestly...... No means am I bashing Iced Earth, just rather extreme disapoint in one specific situation :) I would not be in this band doing what we are doing had Iced Earth never been around.

Im sure my day like that will come eventually.

I agree, however it wasn't technically disney world. he was standing out side of HOB which is in downtown disney at 1:30 in the morning.....

either which way the cookie crumbles, its still falling appart. sooooooo lets try and get back OT :)

Not true, it may make things easier, but it is not necessary. Plenty of people are able to achieve without some bulls#@t nicety front. I believe Iced Earth would in fact be the perfect example here
I won't kiss anyone's ass regardless who they are or think they are, no need to. Don't understand how to have any self respect that way.
Now granted there may not be any need to tell people that whoever is a d#@k, still if the guy is then he is.
I would never want to work with people like that and if that means not moving forward then so be it but at least I did not sellout to work with d@#ks.

This.

Hahahaha. Awesome!!!!

I met Dee when he was still in King Diamond, many years ago, when they were touring for THEM. He was very cool.

My last band was on a CD compilation with Motorhead for a festival they used to hold in Chicago. We were actually going to play the fest too, but then it got moved to a smaller venue and bands got cut (primarily the locals).

Still a highlight of my short musical career though, being on a pressed CD with one of my top 5 bands of all time.

I've never really had a bad experience with a musician. Prog Power III set the bar of fan interaction and civility for all time and it is high. I've only had two less than stellar experiences. But nothing that made me hate the band.

And in Iced Earth's defense I have to say that I've met (not friends with at all but met) them a couple of times and they were cool. The first time in 04 was in Austin when they came with Evergrey and Bodom. My friend and I got there super early and ended up giving Jon a ride to Wal Mart and Academy Sports to buy arm bands for sweat. He didn't seem uncomfortable at all and answered all the questions in an actual way, not bored "yes. no. no. shut up." Maybe it was cos the two of us were talking about non music things too and not "Hey when's Matt coming back, whens Matt coming back?" At PP IX I ran into Jon and asked him if he remembered that trip and he did. Said he didn't remember our names but remembered doing it. Hey, that's pretty cool to me.

And when I ran into Matt that same night I just got the vibe from him that he thinks there's more important things in the world than metal music. I think he feels that other than money that he is helping people with his singing like he is with a cop. I mean, I bet this dude's seen dead people, shot up people, cut up people, nasty shit and now he's singing about Dracula? While I don't think he's in it just for a check, I do think that he might place some things higher on the pedestal of life than metal.

FTR that's me in the Soulfly shirt, which Lemmy busted on me because it wasn't a Motorhead shirt, then I untied the longsleeve around my waist which was a Motorhead shirt and said this one is cooler, but it's too damn hot to wear it right now. His reply "that's more like it". :loco:
