EQ and Math

"hey captain, you know that guy whose camper they were whacking off in?"

"sergeant! you're an employee of the federal government; as such, you can never end a sentence in a preposition!"

"ok...umm...you know that guy whose camper in off they were whacking?"

"yes, sergeant?"

RIP beavis & butthead

cant wait for the rest of it thanks jeff ive been trying to understand this stuff for months now and having skipped all my math classes back in high school ive got the math skills of a five year old so thanks.

"Start stringing words together willy-nilly and it can lead to no end of confusion. Constable Kray, let me have your notebook. Look here. 'The criminal ran round my side and out the back at a colossal lick.' Jumble up the words and suddenly you have "The criminal licked out my colossal round backside and ran.' "

Then don't read this. Based on my experience with 'audio technology' you probably had it taught wrong anyway, so I don't blame you for not having interest...

naa the people actually teaching it were all professional sound engineers, not necessarily mixers etc. . alot of it was interesting, but it was not my scene. It was one of the most recognised places to study such a degree in the north of the UK

Okay, I'm going to start working on the second part very shortly (had a bit of a busy weekend that I wasn't expecting)... what else would you guys like to see covered?

Jeff

id like to see something on the digital signal filters an how to apply them blah blah blah.

Okay...

...

FUCK!

You already pointed that out! It isn't even relevant!#

Yes it is, correcting the misuse of an English word is always relevant. You damn Americans and your war on eye rack! :Saint:

But yes, I agree with the guy who posted that everything can have something to do with maths :)

But great explanation JBroll, intrigued me.

Hey...

Time for a bump, because I've completely lost track of where I was going with this and need somewhere to go. Any questions on just about anything would help me pull this together, so...

... what else do you guys want to know?

Jeff

Yeah, I'll be going into specifics of EQ types somewhere in there, what I did with highpass and lowpass stuff was pretty backwards and odd (the kind of approach that makes shell scripting simple and everything else evil) but I will be going more into that sort of thing. It really is just adding and subtracting ranges of frequencies, but there's a lot of detail that can be covered.

Jeff

Sorry for the necro thread, but i'd rather bump this then start a new thread..

Anyone know any sites that are an introduction into DSP programming, preferably with some examples in some variant of C

I'm trying to read through the math of this stuff (fourier) but my brain just melts from all the equations and no code examples :goggly:
