My live rig is based upon a Yamaha DG stomp which sounded so close to the preamp of a Peavey 5150 (played thru the power amp of a 5150) that I bought it straight up, and it can switch between clean and drive without the boring glitch. Good FX and stuff built in. At home I use a software called Izotope "Trash". I record the guitar dry and apply the amphead and speaker emulation later, which enables me to tweak the guitars after it's recorded!!! For C2 i Used a heavily EQ'd PodXt.
