Thats what the shopowner in Belgium said when I bought this:

He kept on kissing his fingers and proclaiming "especiaal!". I told him I flew all the way from Floriduh just to taste it, but he couldnt understand english so he just kept saying especiaal LOL.

For those who dont know, Westvleteren is a beer that is brewed by monks in a monastery. It can only be bought there, but some people go take the tour and resell it for like a gazillion dollars. I got five bottles for 35 euros, and a case of it has been sold online for 150$ per.

W-12: has a nice, sweet smell; a really bitter aftertaste...but the bitter is smooth as fuck.

I bought the W-12 in Stockholm a while back for about €16 (USD 20).

A friend of mine has two crates of the W-8 though and has promised me one (bottle, not crate)




I'm a total beer geek myself, tried more than 50 different ones (different beers that is, not just 50 glasses of Staropramen...) when I was in Prague for 7 days last week and also brew my own beer.
