Got an iphone 3gs for xmas. Pretty sweet compared to my instinct....

Anyways, I've got a few cool things but nothing great. Some remote desktop, craigslist, pandora, metronom, free document reeader, etc.

I don't care about paying for a good app.

What do you guys use?

ping! is pretty awesome, dropbox, AIM, tweetie 2, Spotify are all apps i use alot :)

Aroundme, Aeroweather (if you're not into aeronautics, make the translated reading on, it's an app giving you precise meteo infos at every airport, just add your local airport and you can have pro precision meteo info),ebay, mcdonalds, skype, soundmeter (can have its use for us even if it's not precise)

Save money, buy a Droid :)

Save keystrokes, post in a thread about the Droid =]

and maybe, you know... read 'n stuff. he did get the phone for free... a Xmas gift, as he said in his thread opener... so buying any other phone at all wouldn't save him any money any way you slice it, ;)

Haha I know, I was just trying to rub it in that I just got one.

It's pretty much the same thing. All the apps on iPhone are also available for the Droid.

Both good phones, just depends on what provider you like best.

I use my iPhone for production work on the go. I use iGOG (from makers of Drumagog) to record MIDI (simple drum patterns I can export). I also use PowerBeatFree (non-MIDI) to do drum programming on the go. So when I get home, I know where everything needs to be, and I can bang it out faster with EZDrummer. I use Guitarist Ref Pro for guitar scales etc. AudioSigGen is also great because it will spit out whatever freqency you want to so you can use it to tune rooms/rigs, or just learn or have a reference for an exact frequency.
