In a popular tv show here in turkey, they showed the performance of lordi and commented on it. it's a comedy talk show which brings a bunch of "different" famous people, like models, authors, singers etc. There was an old pop singer there (i'm not sure that it's pop, but he used to sing really "naive" songs) and he said that lordi's performance was excellent, while almost all the other people, including the audience in the studio (which consists of young individuals whom i used to think seek "different" things, dislike popular culture mostly etc.) claimed that they were "disgusting". That's pretty weird. But even if that old pop singer could appreciate Lordi's performance, i think many other people may start to think better things about heavy metal and learn not to judge a book by its cover.
Also he said that in Eurovision, from now on, it will not be so easy to make "music" since Lordi brought a different musical "vision" and fantastic performance to Eurovision.
After Turkey winning the contest, remember that there had been a huge trend to inject some "ethnicity" into the songs. Maybe next year this will change into a trend of rock music and we might see more rock bands in Eurovision

Well, if Lordi could be the winner then next year we should attend the contest with Pentagram (Mezarkabul)!!! Bright idea indeed!
siriusian, Güven Erkin Erkal also mentioned about Mezarkabul and Eurovision after news of TV8, 3 days ago.
But i think that'd be a bad idea. Finland did something new for eurovision, if any other country would send any other metal band, that'd be just a photocopy of the idea about Finns.
And Mezarkabul has already joined Eurovision in indirect way as you know. Demir Demirkan, old member of them and ex bf of sertab erener has composed the song of "everyway that i can" and she took the first place

I've always only been able to find samples of Mezerkabul, but never a real long song, anybody can help me in this?

Honestly, i am not a big fan of Mezarkabul (or Pentagram). I am maybe the small one : P
Ok ok, while i was in high school, i used to like their albums called "Pentagram" and "Trail Blazer". Their first album which has the same name with the band have the same style with Slayer. But actually their music is quite diffrent. They are actually making something like power metal and sometimes they are using oriantel sounds.
They are one of the most known metal band here in Turkey because once they have signed with "Raks Music" which was a very commercial firm for pop bands. But because of it, we had chance to see Pentagram on national television channells Their other property is that they are really a quite old band. Here in Turkey, most of bands cannot survive more than 2 years.

Well the concepty is Anatolia, where was the place where earliest civilizations has been borned and where was a very reach and civil place than rest of the world in the past. But actually, anatolia has lost its proud and the guy in pentagram finds him (also all other people live in Turkey actually) responsible from it etc. Or at least, that is what i understand from the song.

The lyric of that song has been composed by a Bektashi poet, who was from a very poor villiage and who got blind while he was a child.
The name of that fellow, Asik Veysel who were sometimes querying religion or even got.

Enya, that's right that i can say that i am a fan of estonia. And i wanted to create a website to introduce estonians to turkish people because people here are mostly ignorant about that country and also estonians have mostly have no any idea about we turks eigher. I also tried to put a section in english language but it was really hard for me to make alive both english and turkish. it was because of the lackness of time.
I have been there only once before, for 20 days. And for 2nd time, i had trouble to get visa from that country. It seems like i will not able to visit there for some years because once my visa application has been rejected but i still like there.
This saturday, i will be in switzerland and who knows i will hitchhike until estonia and enter that country illegally (just kidding)
