Matt did mention a headlining tour in January at the release party, so plans had already been made. I would think a couple of months out would be long enough - the longer you leave it, the harder it would be to get back in the saddle, as it were. At least they haven't/aren't doing what Metallica did, they were back on the road just six weeks after Cliff died, probably a bit too soon.
