Have you ever been waiting for something to happen, whatever it may be, you saw it coming and thought you prepared for it, yet when it happened it was as if it came out of no where, you were shocked? I think this applies to whenever a loved one dies, but I cant think of any others in my life....this is something that hasnt happened yet, but I know Opeth will one day stop making music, it will however still be shocking.

Yes, it happened to me before. Earlier this year, something happened that I've been aware of and prepared for a year in advance. Yet when the time came the outcome was still so shocking that it turned my world upside down and inside out.

I can predict many situations that will be like that. And i know many situations that have been like that.
Major ones in recent history being the end of school (a few years ago now, but still quite a shock).
and......
Friendships failing and growing apart, i mean i expected that during this period of life when everyone starts to move and get jobs and stuff that my 'group of friends' would fall apart, and it basically has, i'm still friends with them all but its so different now. I thought i was ready for it but its still shocked me. (i guess its similar to the 'loved ones dying' thing but to a lesser degree).
