Im starting to get into metal, i love the guitar, the drums, everything. I need some advice as to what bands are worth listiening to, because my friend says theres alot of awesome metal and alot of shit. thanks for you help.

That album is merely blackened heavy metal, and decent at that. Far from shitty.

Ok I shouldn't call it shitty cuz I like tracks 2,3 and 8. So medicore is a more suiting adjictive. Nevertheless its far from being essential.

^^Not really. It was one of the first black metal albums I got and it convinced me for a few minutes that the genre was medicore and redunent. Fortuantley I got In the Nightside Eclipse the same day.

You shouldn't look at it from a black metal standpoint, but from a heavy metal standpoint. It has got some pretty headbang worthy tracks.
