If an artist is allowed I'll pick Lee Hazlewood! He's my favorite artist at the moment. He's probably not my favorite artist of all time, as I've only listened to his music for 1 1/2 years or so. I have the feeling though, that I'll still be listening to his music in 20 years and I doubt that I'll still be listening to metal then (maybe except for Type O Negative, Opeth, Guns N' Roses & Iron Maiden).
If I should pick an all-time favorite band/artist it would probably be either Guns N' Roses, Type O Negative or Iron Maiden. I've listened to Guns & Maiden since '91 I think. I think I've listened to Type O since '94. I kind of stopped listening to metal some years back (around '97 I think), but I still listened a little to Type O. Around '95-'96 or something I had more or less stopped listening to Guns & Maiden, but I've gained interest in them once again.
