I think Opeth has always had nice covers, only one I don't understand is the cover of MAYH, it's too black metal for Opeth but it somehow fits the ghost theme, maybe. The Morningrise cover is of course a classic but Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries are also magnificent. They're not lazy covers, they're atmospheric.

Once AGAIN, like I posted a few pages back, it has absolutely nothing to do with black metal. Mikael said in an interview when the album MAYH came out, that he wanted to have an album cover along the same lines as the first Black Sabbath album cover, it always gave him the creeps.

It was a tough choice, but i had to go with morningrise. So simple, yet so atmospheric. MAYH and Deliverance are close behind with the whole creepy ass woman/girl things. Has anyone noticed the girl in the mirror in deliverance? At least thats what I thought it was- kinda weird considering I've slept under a poster of it for a couple years now.

I seem to be in the minority here, thinking Ghost Reveries is the best. I mean, it doesn't even have the Opeth logo or the title on it, but Travis Smith's work on it is stunning in my opinion.

The most beautiful album cover is Still Life I think. The whole thing with the red colour and the lady/statue? (I guess it's Melinda) just appeals to me. And also, the little thing with the cross, and how it reflects a man is soooo cooool. ;)

Although the album with the best artWORK (not cover) is probably Ghost Reveries or Watershed.:)

Easy one... Still Life, hands down, and not just because it's my favorite Opeth record. Beautiful, yet dark masterful artwork. All that red doesn't hurt, either!

I love the cover of Morningrise. I know it sounds cheesy to write it but it is dark, mysterious and quite beautiful, like Opeth's music. It's just brilliant.
