There's barely any competition for the category among what I listen to, but yeah, it's a goodun. Somehow they were one of the first extreme metal bands I ever heard (by way of Napster).

I wonder what you'd think of Skeleton of God. Pretty weird combination of sludge, brutal death and a bit of tech/avant-garde too.

With the death metal being the main ingredient, nothing's really standing out to grab me on 1st listen. Just not really my subgenre beyond a select handful of bands. I guess it's bigger points of difference that tend to get my attention, like Entombed's buzzsaw guitar sound, or Nocturnus using keyboards.
