I like MAYH. it's just so cool looking.
I don't really like Damnation's cover, with the girl or whatever, looks kind of lame even though the music is amazing of course

Still Life, the picture and colour scheme fit the storyline perfectly... imho

GR is also a nice thought provoking slab of cover art.

BP is a very mistifying piece of artwork, :)

I can't comment on the others as I don't have them "yet."

Amazing tunes.

Best:MAYH

It's like this dark mysterious forest pic, you can't quite make out what it is but it has a strange atmosphere and somehow you're drawn to it.

Just like Opeth's music, so shouldn't this be the perfect cover then?

When MAYH starts I can imagine myself at that place with the rain intro becoming real.

Worst: Deliverance
It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the albums, they should've sticked with the dark nature thing it rocks

Best: D&D ... what a spooky atmosphere, wich fits the music on those albums, but that's only my opinion apparantly :)
Worst: MAYH, although I agree with Opethian666, I think it could have been much better ... now it's too blurry.

and yeah Rahan, come to Belgium, and you'll discover much more amazing beer like that! ;)

Best: D&d, BWP, Morningrise- Sounds stupid but they are all wonderfull.

Worst: Orchid- too much colours, black/white covers rule;)

I think my least favorite is Ghost Reveries, tied with MYAH. GR I just can't stand the cover, the look of the candles, the flames, etc. just turn me off. MYAH is just way too blurry, where it looks like 'Oh, this WAS cool, at somepoint'.

My fave is probably Damnation barely edging out Orchid. The Orchid cover is beautiful in my mind, so sparse yet lush, a black, bare, empty background and exploding through that twin bursts of vibrant colors, which is what Orchid sounds like to me, a dark, bleak base and those organic and emotive twin leads.
Damnation though just immediately establishes the emotion and nuance of the music on the album. Seeing the little girl doll just makes me hear 'Hope Leaves' and 'Windowpane' and 'Ending Credits' all rolled up, and the greyscale monochromatic scheme with the touches of brightness and the more gradual dark shadings perfectly emote the feeling I get from every song.
